Live broadcast from the webcam shows a pool with seals undergoing rehabilitation at the seal nursery. Seal nursery "Zeehondencrche Pieterburen" is a research center for the restoration and distribution of seals. Located in Pieterburen, a locality in the community of De Marne in the north of the Netherlands in the province of Groningen.
The nursery was founded by naturalist L. Hart and her colleagues. found here contained in the soil and sick seals found in the Wadden Sea. The center rescues seals injured by ship and boat propellers or fishing nets and those that arise from the destruction of the sea. The Center also rescues orphan seals. All seals are released into the wild after a rehabilitation period that lasts from several weeks to six months. The live camera shows the pool, which is already fully grown seals before being released into the wild. The center also collects fishing nets that float in the sea and can injure animals.
Later, the animals in the nursery began to breed specially. Today, about 1750 seals live here, including individuals that were saved due to the presence in the nursery.
